The Litter-Robot III Open Air comes already pre-wired for a backup battery, if you would like to action this option.

Adding a Back up Battery to your Litter-Robot can provide peace of mind if you are in an area prone to power outages, by giving you 24-48 hours of reserve power, to keep your Litter-Robot operational if the mains power stops. Battery life varies depending on number of cats and frequency of use, and battery purchased as the battery is not included.

 

Battery required is a 12 VDC, 1.3 Ah sealed lead acid battery, which can be purchased at Jaycar or similar outlet. The Robot has wires and plugs that can be plugged onto the battery terminals, and they are located on the underside of the base. There is a recess in-built in the base, for the battery to fit into, and you can purchase a frame and screws to secure the battery in place.

Frame and screws only are available for purchase, battery is not included. Note Australian battery frame is clear, not black colour.
